About us

Queensland State Archives (QSA) is the custodian of the largest and most significant documentary heritage collection in Queensland. We manage, preserve and facilitate public access to the state’s permanent archival public records.

QSA was established under section 21 the Public Records Act 2002 as the state’s archives and records management authority and is an agency in the Digital Productivity and Services portfolio of the Department of Science, Information Technology and Innovation.

‘Stories From The Archive’ blog is a forum for members of the public to share and discuss stories and discoveries from their research in the archives. We hope you enjoy, explore and learn more about Queensland’s fascinating history.
